Even though it's not the official start of the Atlantic hurricane season, Tropical Storm Alma popped up in the Pacific. Just a subtle reminder that our hurricane season is getting ready to gear up. We're officially up and running on Sunday.
These past two years have been very nice to us, let's hope for another good one. But I'll never forget my first hurricane season in South Florida where I got to meet Dennis, Katrina, Rita, and the star of the show: Wilma.
Wilma reminds me of just how important it is to take hurricane preparations seriously and stock up on food, water, flashlights, etc. Even if you are on a tight budget, you can stock up. There is a really nice Hurricane Shopping guide, compliments of Broward County. They break up the shopping into eight weeks so it won't completely kill you financially.

weekend update
Not really much exciting here. I had a pretty quiet and uneventful weekend, which is just fine with me. Yesterday Daniel's mother and her boyfriend came into town. His mother's boyfriend has a brother who lives around here, so they spent some time with him before coming to see us. They came around dinnertime and we headed out to the beach front area. We ate dinner, walked on the beach, and then stopped at another place and enjoyed gigantic margaritas. I always like when visitors come because it gives you an excuse to go to the touristy areas that we don't normally hit a lot.
Today we slept in a little and then spent the rest of the morning relaxing. Me reading a book and Daniel playing his new xbox game. Then this afternoon we had our weekly Hooters wings/beer fix before we went to see Ironman. The movie was great, but it was a long time to sit in a seat. It didn't help that the movie started over 40 minutes late.
Now I'm getting ready to finish the book I've been reading. I won't rest until I finish it. Since the time I picked it up last weekend I added two new books to my collection. Both the new Sookie Stackhouse book and the new Stephenie Myers book came out last week. Combined with the book I'm finishing up, that's a good 1100 pages to go before I'm satisfied. And let's face it, I'm not the world's fastest reader.

I threw up in my mouth a little bit the other day. That guy really shouldn't have been wearing a speedo.

I'm pretty sure it's the f-word. But I do use jack-ass a lot. Is that considered a curse word?

Oddly enough, my boss S. Daniel, of course... And this little girl in the library, but I didn't catch her name.

Sleeping.

Watching Across the Universe with Daniel.

Define strip club.

Vanilla... with coco crispies sprinkled on top.

Actually, this is a pretty funny story. Daniel and I were at Hooters. Yes, I said Hooters. And they had this bull riding championship thing on the TV. Well, it was either that or basketball. So it was bull riding.

Yeah I like it enough. Although I'm a little scared to try it in Florida. We've got all kinds of creepy things down here... Like alligators.

Daniel accidentally flushed a bracelet of mine down the toilet once.
